Scientist: Stem Cell Biology and Assay Development

Primorigen Biosciences has immediate openings for qualified scientists experienced in stem cell culturing, differentiation, expansion, high-throughput cellular assay design, and related activities. The successful candidate(s) will be part of an active, multidisciplinary group and required to provide high level technical leadership for product development. Summary

Primorigen Biosciences is seeking an experienced stem cell scientist to conduct and optimize differentiations toward hematopoietic, cardiac and other lineages, develop high-throughput assays with the derived cells and aid in design, development and implementation of research to influence cell fate, scale up production, and reduce costs of cell culture. Additional responsibilities include support for production and QA/QC of Primorigen’s stem cell matrix proteins (StemAdhere™, Vitronectin XF™) and hematopoietic differentiation medium (MesoTotal™). The successful candidate will play an active role in identifying and validating additional product opportunities in the regenerative medicine research products market, and will have a Ph.D. in life sciences with at least 2 years of hands on experience in stem cell culturing and differentiation, though a Master of Science Degree with extensive relevant experience also will be considered. Applicants should possess excellent troubleshooting, record-keeping, computer, written & spoken communication skills with a strong attention to detail, and the ability to take direction and advise senior management in a quickly-changing environment with aggressive timelines.


Responsibilities (Include but are not limited to the following):

  • Lead the technical development of a) high-throughput cellular assays that meet or exceed product design goals, b) new technologies for increasing effectiveness and lower costs of cell culture, c) new 3D surfaces and coatings and other strategies for more user friendly, cost effective, large scale production of stem cells and their progeny.
  • Conceive and write detailed grant proposals to support additional stem cell product development activities, and lead grant project management.
  • Provide data, text and related support for patent prosecution, copyrights, and other IP protection.
  • Evaluate and develop recommendations to senior management for new technology directions.
  • Contribute to technical decisions affecting product development.
  • Assess and report on impact of competitive technologies on corporate goals.
  • Develop, plan, prepare, conduct, record and analyze results of experiments.
  • Prepare reports and documentation summarizing experimental results and interpretation of data.
  • Identify problems, investigate alternatives and recommend solutions.


Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Life Sciences with direct experience in stem cell biology. M.S. with relevant extensive experience will be considered.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-disciplinary team environment and drive projects to completion on time and within or under budget.
  • Previous industry experience preferred.
  • Proactive problem solver with decision-making skills and capabilities for leading projects.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and effective presentation skills.

Scientist: Biochemical Engineering and Stem Cell Biology

Primorigen Biosciences Inc., a dynamic Madison, WI-based stem cell research products company is seeking a qualified senior scientist with a biochemical engineering and stem cell biology background to develop innovative products for human induced pluripotent stem cell (hiPSC) culturing, differentiation production and high throughput screening. Prior industry product development experience is preferred; familiarity with iPSC-derived assays is a plus.


The successful candidate will be part of an active, multidisciplinary group and expected to excel as a Principal Investigator, provide high level technical and project leadership, and play an active role in identifying and validating new product opportunities in the stem cell culturing, differentiation, production and high-throughput screening industry segments. Additional responsibilities include providing support for production and QA/QC of Primorigen’s stem cell matrices, cell differentiation media, and other products.


Applicants should possess excellent record-keeping, computer, and communication skills with a strong attention to detail, and the ability to take and give direction, and advise senior management in a fast paced environment with aggressive timelines. Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Biological Engineering or Life Sciences disciplines with direct experience in hiPSC culturing and differentiation preferable.
