Primorigen Biosciences has immediate openings for qualified candidates in the areas of Cloning and Protein Expression, Assay Development, Cell Culture/Monoclonal Antibody Production and Stem Cell Sciences. The successful candidate(s) will be part of an active, multidisciplinary group of scientists providing high level analytical support, and will be expected to exercise judgment within broadly defined practices and evaluate criteria for obtaining solutions to product development and launch. Scientist - Assay Development Primorigen Biosciences is seeking an Assay Development Scientist to develop multiplex immunoassays, and perform ELISA, Western Blot and other basic immunological techniques as an active participant in the product development process. The position requires a B.S. in life sciences or related field with 2 years of hands on experience or a 2-year technical degree with 3 years experience. Preference is given to applicants with experience in one or more of the following areas: printing, protein expression & purification, immunoaffinity assay development, bioconjugation techniques. Applicants should possess excellent troubleshooting, record-keeping, computer, written and spoken communication skills with a strong attention to detail, and the ability to take direction in a quickly-changing environment with aggressive timelines.
Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:
- Devising, executing and evaluating results of bench level experiments
- Prepares reports and documentation providing the interpretation, analysis or summarization of results as related to product/process development and improvement.
- Participates in technical decisions affecting product development issues.
- Identifies problems, investigates alternatives and recommends possible courses of action.
- Authoring experimental protocols, manufacturing protocols and scientific articles
- Maintaining familiarity with current scientific literature
- Performs other tasks as assigned
Qualifications Preferred candidates will meet the maximum possible number of the following criteria:
- Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or related field
- Minimum of 1-2 years industry experience
- Extensive experience with a variety of ELISA-based immunoassay techniques
- Experience with lab automation and microarraying equipment beneficial
- Understanding of antibody production and protein purification methods
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment and adapt to changing plans and circumstances within all levels of the organization, vendors, customers, etc.
- Ability to effectively work on many complex and varied projects at one time, with frequently changing priorities
