Scientist: Stem Cell Biology and Assay Development

Primorigen Biosciences has immediate openings for qualified scientists experienced in stem cell culturing culturing, hematopoietic and cardiac development and differentiation, and high-throughput cellular assay design. The successful candidate(s) will be part of an active, multidisciplinary group and required to provide high level technical leadership for product development. Primorigen Biosciences is seeking an experienced stem cell scientist to conduct and optimize differentiations toward hematopoietic and cardiac lineages, and develop high-throughput assays with the derived cells. Additional responsibilities include providing support for production and QA/QC of Primorigen’s stem cell matrix proteins (StemAdhere™, Vitronectin XF™) and hematopoietic differentiation medium (MesoTotal™). The successful candidate will play an active role in identifying and validating additional product opportunities in the regenerative medicine research products market. The position requires a Ph.D. in life sciences with 2 years of hands on experience in stem cell culturing and differentiation. Applicants should possess excellent troubleshooting, record-keeping, computer, written & spoken communication skills with a strong attention to detail, and the ability to take direction and advise senior management in a quickly-changing environment with aggressive timelines.

Responsibilities (Include but are not limited to the following):

  • Lead the technical development of high-throughput cellular assays that meet or exceed product design goals.
  • Conceive and write detailed grant proposals to support additional stem cell product development activities, and lead grant project management.
  • Generate data and draft text that support submission of patent applications.
  • Evaluate and develop recommendations to senior management for new technology directions.
  • Contribute to technical decisions affecting product development.
  • Assess and report on impact of competitive technologies on corporate goals.
  • Develop, plan, prepare, conduct, record and analyze results of experiments.
  • Prepare reports and documentation providing the interpretation, analysis and summary of experimental results.
  • Identify problems, investigate alternatives and recommend solutions.


  • Ph.D. in Life Sciences with direct experience in stem cell biology.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-disciplinary team environment and drive projects to completion on time and on budget.
  • Previous industry experience preferred.
  • Proactive problem solver capable of leading projects.
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication and effective presentation skills.
